This bursary fund is open to any active senior national team athlete who is Canadian, committed to training and competing for Canada in the upcoming year, and who is in financial need.  Recipients are chosen on the basis of their athletic achievement, financial need, and community involvement.

  • Carlo Fassi Memorial Fund

The Carlo Fassi Memorial Fund was formed as a branch of the Lake Arrowhead Skating Foundation. The foundation helps support talented and dedicated skaters training at the Ice Castle International Training Center in Lake Arrowhead, California.

  • Chevrolet R.E.W.A.R.D.S Scholarship

  • Chevrolet recently signed Michelle Kwan as the spokesperson for their new scholoship program designed to provide aid to female student athletes during college.  Graduating high school seniors who apply for the R.E.W.A.R.D.S. scholarship will be evaluated on the basis of academic performance, academic achievements, leadership, participation in school and community activities, financial need, and on the quality of a personal essay.  Applications may be downloaded from the Chevrolet website.

    The USFSA, Chevrolet, and the Program Development Committee are in charge of the annual Chevrolet Scholastic
    Honors Team Award. The Honors Team is a program designed to recognize high school age USFSA members who have distinguished themselves both in figure skating and high school academics.  Specific criteria and applications can be downloaded from the USFSA site.

    Originating through revenue generated by the 2000 National Figure Skating Championship Competition, the Cleveland Championship 2000 and Beyond Fund supports amateur figure skating events and programs in Cleveland.  Individuals as well as groups and programs may apply for funding.  Details and applications can be found on their website.

    This fund was established to assist competitive and test skaters that have demonstrated exemplary conduct and dedication to the sport of figure skating.  Skaters in all disciplines are eligible, as long as they have passed the Preliminary level.  In order to qualify, a skater's coach must be a member of the Cleveland Coaches Council.

    Each year the Colonial Skating Club in Bristol, Pennsylvania awards a scholarship to graduating seniors who are going on to college. They also grant continuing education scholarships to members who are in college and have continued their affiliation with the sport of figure skating.  Recipients must be members of the Colonial Skating Club.

    The Colorado Springs World Arena Figure Skating Assistance Fund was recently established to provide assistance to qualified figure skaters to help offset the costs associated with the pursuit of their competitive dreams. Contributions to the Figure Skating Assistance Fund may be established as a separate fund to honor friends or family members. The first such fund, the Frederick R. Sindt Memorial Fund, has been set-up in memory of a key founder of the World Arena. All gifts are tax deductible.

    The Detroit Skating Club Excellence Fund provides financial grants to ice skaters based on skating ability and financial need. Skaters do not need to belong to Detroit Skating Club to receive a grant. Contributions are tax deductible.

    • The Jimmy and Dede Disbrow Skating Foundation

    This foundation was started by former USFSA President Jimmy Disbrow and his wife Dede who is a coach at the Braemar-City of Lakes Figure Skating Club. This fund raises money to support members of the Twin Cities Figure Skating Association. Jimmy's passed away on October 16, 2002 so donations are now being accepted in his memory.

    • The Elvis Stojko Scholarship Fund

    This fund, created by Elvis Stojko and administered by Skate Canada, provides money annually to Canadian skaters who have displayed talent and an intent to elevate and expand the horizons of the sport of figure skating.  Recipients are selected by a committee, of which Elvis Stojko is a member.

    This newly formed non-profit organization raises money to distribute to figure skaters in the United States in order to aid their development and participation in national and international competitions.  Applications for assistance are reviewed by aboard consisting of USFSA judges, US Olympic competitors, Olympic coaches, parents of former Olympic competitors, and other athletic trainers and coaches.  Awards are based on character, leadership and dedication.  Donations are tax deductible.

    Figure Skating in Harlem (FSH) is a pioneering not-for-profit organization founded in 1997 to provide exciting new educational, cultural and athletic opportunities for girls in the Harlem community through the unique discipline and art of figure skating.  Using figure skating as a powerful magnet, FSH provides girls who live in the Harlem community with an innovative ice skating and educational program designed to build a positive self-image, teamwork, leadership, and academic achievement. By participating in the FSH program, girls experience positive physical, emotional and intellectual growth in a safe and supportive environment.

    The Ice Skating Institute of America Education Foundation was founded to enhance the educational opportunities of ISI members by encouraging skaters to make athletic as well as educational achievements. To achieve this goal, the Trustees award scholarships with a $4,000 minimum value to ISI skatersfor study in universities, colleges, and technical schools throughout the United States.  Donations are tax deductible.     The Skating Club of Mt. Lebanon presents an annual scholarship to club members who are graduating high school seniors or full time college students.  Applicants must have passed Senior Moves in the field, Junior Freestyle, or all Gold dances.

    Jeremy Abbott, the 2005 U.S. Men's Junior National Champion, has started a training fund for boys skating competitively who are based out of Jeremy's home club, the Aspen Skating Club.  The fund will help cover club dues, competition fees, lessons, costumes, and skates.  Jeremy himself made the initial donation but he is encouraging others to donate to this tax deductible fund.

    This organization is meant to help Latino skaters pay for their training and for travel to competitions.  It also works todevelop  figure skating as a recreational sport among the Latin community.  The Latino International Skating Coalition is a non-profit organization so all donations are tax deductible.

    Administered by Skate Canada, this Foundation has been established in the memory of Janette Elizabeth McInnis and John McKay.  Awards are granted to Pair skaters living away from home and in need of financial assistance; Pair skaters who have distinguished themselves in their competitive skating; and/or Junior Pair Medallists of the previous Bank ofMontreal Canadian Championships.

    Two-time Olympian, Michael Weiss, is pleased to announce the formation of The Michael Weiss Foundation, a non-profit organization created to address the issue of the high cost of figure skating by offering a skating scholarship funded by Michael himself.  All applicants must be an Olympic eligible skater for the United States and a current member of the USFSA. Applications will be accepted from single skaters of the intermediate, novice and junior levels.  More information and applications can be found on his website.

    Founded in 1991 by the Twin Cities Figure Skating Association, this fund raises money through events like dinners and galas as well as through donations.  The money goes to support the training of figure skaters belonging to one of the 17 member clubs in Minnesota.

    In memory of Morgan Innes, an Australian figure skating champion, her family and the Australian Skating Federation have established a scholarship foundation.  This foundation will provide training scholarships to up and coming Australian skaters so that they can train with elite coaches all over the world.

    The Nashville Skater's Trust provides support for members of the Nashville Figure Skating Club. Donations are tax deductible and you can earmark your funds for an individual skater.

    This foundation supports U.S. figure skaters as well as a few international skaters. Rather than receiving the money directly, skaters must submit bills for skating related expenses such as travel, coaching, costumes, etc., and then the foundation pays the bills. When donating to this fund, you can suggest which skater you would like to receive your support but the final decisions are made by committee. Donations are tax deductible.

    This scholarship was formed in memory of Aldo Constantino, the 3rd President of the New England Inter-Club Council.  It provides $1000 scholarships for skaters who are members in good standing of an NEICC club for at least three years and who are at least a Novice level skater or Silver level dancer.  Skaters must apply in their senior year of highschool and must have already been accepted to a two or four year college.  More information and applications can be found on the NEICC Website.

    This past season, the New Jersey Council of Figure Skating Clubs, Inc. awarded eleven scholarships to deserving skaters in New Jersey.  Scholarship recipients were chosen on the basis of competitive and test records, recommendations, and a written essay.  The New Jersey Council of Figure Skating Clubs, Inc.was founded in 1963 andserves as the Inter-Club Council for all figure skating clubs in the State of New Jersey that are also members of the United States Figure Skating Association.
