Johansan Jones is a sixteen year-old up-and-coming skater who, in his first competitive season, won both a Gold and Bronze Medal skating as a Pre-Juvenile at the State Games of America 1999.  He has since moved up to the Junior level.  He recently placed 4th at South Atlantic Regionals and 11th at Eastern Sectionals.  He represents the Ice Works Skating Club in Aston, PA.

Bilal Kheir is currently a USFSA men's Junior skater representing the Peninsula Skating Club. He trains out of Redwood City, California under the instruction of Lisa Brody. This season so far he has placed 1st at Spring Jubilee, 3rd at CCIA Senior Competition, 3rd at Hidden Valley Open and placed 1st overall and won the Chabot Cup Trophy at Chabot Skate 2004. Garrett Kling started skating right before he turned 10. He was inspired by skaters on TV and learned jumps himself in his living room. Now Garrett is 14 years old and is in the Intermediate level. He recently placed 5th at the Upper Great Lake Regional Championships, making him 1st alternate for Jr. Nationals. He is also a two-time Minnesota State Champion, and won the bronze medal the 2003 State Games of America in Simsbury, Connecticut. He is also a full-time straight A student and is in the 8th grade. He is coached by Kristie Mitchelle and Molly Cornelison. One of Garrett's most memorable skating memories was kissing Michelle Kwan on the cheek when she came and visited his club in the summer of 2002.

Thirteen year old Daniel Lafond is currently skating at the Novice Men’s Level.  Last season Daniel skated at the Intermediate Level and  won the Gold Medal at the 2005 New England Regional Championship and placed 7th at the 2005 U.S. Junior National Championship in Jamestown, New York; he has medaled at all his competitions thought the season along with ranking 2nd in the Eastern Region Future Champion Series.  During his 2003 season as a Juvenile Level skater Daniel placed 4th in the 2004 New England Regional Championship, and placed 7th at the 2004 U.S. Junior National Championship, 1st place at the States Game of America and ranked 2nd in the Eastern Region Future Champion Series.  Daniel has been skating since he was 5 and has skated in many competitions throughout the state of Massachusetts and the North East Coast, he learns pretty quickly, has a positive attitude and is a hard working skater.  He enjoys the sport immensely winning medals more times than not.  Daniel is coached by Bobby and Barbie Martin along with Jess Atkins and Beth Duxbury and he is currently working on his senior moves.  Daniel is in seventh grade and has done an excellent job at balancing skating with school as he is an Honor Student.  Daniel trains on and off ice over 15 hours a week during the school year and over 30 hours during the summer.  Daniel has been invited to do several local exhibitions with the New England area to include, the United Way, Project Bread, Lace Up for Leukemia, the Bay State Games along with the opening ceremony for the 2005 US Synchronized Figure Skating Competition.  Daniel thrives on competitions and shows and looks forward to a long career in skating.  Daniel is looking for financial assistance, so that he can devote more time to skating in pursuit of his championship dreams.  Because of this dream, he realizes that he needs a few more lessons a week then what he is currently able to take due to finances.  Your interest and generosity is greatly appreciated.  Tax deductible support for Daniel’s training is available through the New England Amateur Skating Foundation.

Nicholas LaRoche has been skating since he was 9 years old and is currently competing as a Senior, both nationally and internationally.  In 2002, as a Junior, he won Gold at the U.S. Championships, qualifying him to compete at the World Junior Championships where he placed 10th, the highest placement of any U.S. man.  Other  career accomplishments include winning a Silver Medal at Nationals as a Novice in 1999, winning a Bronze at the 2003 Nebelhorn Trophy, winning a Junior Grand Prix Bronze in 2003, and winning Gold at the Pacific Coast Sectionals in both 2005 and 2006.  Nicholas  represents the All Year Figure Skating Club and is coached by Burt Lancon

Jonathon Long ,14 years old, is dilligent about his figure skating practice, despite the fact that his local rink in Baton Rouge, Louisiana does not have ice year round.  During the off season, he has to drive two hours to find practice ice.  He is currently an alpha level skater in the ISI system but he is hoping to pass more tests soon, if money allows.  He is doing his best to finance his skating but he needs help to cover travel expenses associated with taking his tests and entering competitions.   Last year, Jonathon won three Gold Medals and the Gold Skate Award at the District 11 Championships in Willowbrook, Texas.  He is coached by Sue Coates.

Christopher Mabee is a twenty year old skater born in Tillsonburg, Ontario, Canada who began skating at the age of eight.  In 1998, as a Novice, Christopher was the Canadian National  Silver Medalist and in 2002, as a Junior, he was the Canadian National Bronze Medalist.  He now competes as a Senior, placing 6th at the 2005 Canadian Nationals and 5th at the 2006 Nationals.  In addition, Christopher has an impressive international record.  He has competed on the Junior Grand Prix circuit since 1999, most recently winning Bronze at the 2005 JGP Final.  He also recently placed 5th at the 2005 World Junior Championships and he won Silver at the 2006 Four Continents.  Chris is a member of the Tillsonburg Skating Club and he is coached by Doug Leigh and Lee Barkell

John, age 15, had a fantastic 2005-2006 season.  He competed as an Intermediate skater and won Gold at the 2007 New England Championships and placed 5th at the 2007 Jr. U.S. National Championships. His success has continued from the 2004-2005 season were John won the 2005 New England Championships as a Juvenile, placed 2nd at the 2005 Jr. U.S. National Championships and was a member of the 2006 Jr. National developmental Team. This season John is moving up to Novice level and he is working on mastering triple loop and triple flip.  John is a member of the Colonial Figure Skating Club where he is coached by Carrie Wall and Bobby Martin.

Keegan, 14, just competed in his first US Nationals as a Novice where he won the freeskate and took home the Bronze Medal. He is also the first Novice to land a triple axel at Nationals. Keegan started skating at 31/2, with his first competition at 4. He loves to skate and to perform. During the school year he travels 45 miles from Girdwood, AK to Anchorage to train 3-4 hours a day with Ralph and Rory Burghart. In the summer, he travels 80 miles (each way), to train in Wasilla, AK. Believe it or not, it's hard to find ice in Alaska!  Keegan is working hard to make the USA Olympic Team. Eighteen year old David Mueller is a Senior competitor from Lockport, New York.  He just placed 8th at the Eastern Sectionals.  Past accomplishments include competing at the U.S. Junior National Championships three times, being the Gold Medalist at the North Atlantic Regionals as a Juvenile in 2000, and being named to the USA Developmental Team In 2001.  He trains under Carol Heiss Jenkins.

Daisuke "Dice" Murakami, 16, has competed at the U.S. Nationals as an Intermediate, Novice, Junior, and Senior.  In 2006, as a Junior, he won the Pewter Medal.  His high finish qualified him for the 2006 World Junior Championships where he finished 11th.  He also competed on the Junior Grand Prix, where he won a Bronze Medal in 2006.  Other accomplishments include winning Silver as a Novice in 2004 and winning Gold at Triglav Trophy in 2004.  Dice is proud to be a two time winner of the Michael Weiss Foundation Scholarship.  He is a member of The All Year Figure Skating Club where he is coached by Tammy Gambill.

Michael Novales, age 21, is a former U.S. skater who competed as a Junior at the U.S. Nationals in 2002 and 2003.  In 2005, he began representing the Philippine Skating Union as a Senior level skater.   As such, when he competed at the 2006 World Championships, he had the honor of being the first ever Philippine skater at an ISU event.  His next events will be the 2007 Asian Winter Games and the 2007 World Championships.   In addition to skating, Michael attends Saddleback College.  Michael trains in California with coaches John Nicks, Russ Scott, and Sashi Kuchiki.

Braden, age 25, started skating when he was 9 years old in Denver, Colorado with [still current] coach Susan Williams.  He started competing nationally at age 11 and internationally at age 14.  He has competed at the U.S. National Championships 12 times and has competed internationally 9 times.  He has  three National Silver medals, in the Juvenile, Novice, and Junior levels, and he won Gold at the Intermediate National Championships.  His highest placement in the Senior level was 7th at the 2004 National Championships.  Braden moved out to California last July, after graduating from the University of Denver, to take advantage of higher-level training environments.  He currently trains in Los Angeles, working with Ken Congemi, but his main coach is still in Denver.  So, Braden has to travel back and forth often.  In addition, Braden is an accomplished choreographer, recently winning the 2007 Paul McGrath Choreographer of the Year Award .

Twenty-two year-old Parker has had a very successful career at the U.S. Nationals, winning the title at 4 different levels.  He won Gold as a Junior in 2001, as a Novice in 1998, as an Intermediate in 1996, and as a Juvenile in 1995.  He is now competing as a Senior, both Nationally and Internationally.  Most recently, he placed 7th at the 2007 Nationals.  Previous international results include  6 JGP medals and two trips to the JGP Final.  Parker trains with Audrey Weisiger and Nikoli Morozov in Farifax, Virginia.

Eighteen year old Douglas Razzano has been skating for nine years.  In that time,  Douglas has had many great successes.  He won Gold at the 2004 Triglav Trophy, Silver at the 2003 North American Challenge Skate, and most recently, he made it to the podium at the 2005 U.S. Nationals by placing 4th in Junior Men.  Douglas represents the Coyotes SC of Arizona and trains with Doug Ladret, Lara Ladret, and Grant Rorvick.  He is in need of sponsorship to help him reach his goal of competing at the 2010 Olympics.

Ken Rose is a seventeen year old skater representing Canada.  Last season he won the Junior Men's title at the 2003 Canadian Championships and this year, he will make his debut as a Senior.  He will also compete on the 2003 Junior Grand Prix Circuit, where he won a bronze medal in the 2002 Scottsdale event.  Ken has been the recipient several awards, including the 2000 and 2001 Elvis Stojko Bursary Award.  His goal is to compete at the 2010 Olympics and then to skate professionally.  Ken trains at the Richmond Training Center with coach Linda Bridge. Ken lives with his mother, and younger brother, Jamie, who has Down Syndrome.  Ken's training costs are significant, and he currently does not have any sponsorship.

Cody is a 16 year old skater who has been taking private lessons for approximately 3 years.  During that time, Cody has focused primarily on training, and he has tested up to the Intermediate level.  Cody currently trains in Northern Kentucky with Stephanie Miller and Ted Masdea.  Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, Cody has had very limited competition experience.  To this date, Cody has only competed four times.  Our goal this year is to have Cody compete on a regular basis without having to reduce his training time.  If you would like to help, please consider making a donation to the New England Amateur Skating Foundation, and be sure to "suggest" (on a separate piece of paper) that the monies be used for Cody Rowekamp.  (Please keep in mind that your donation may be tax-deductible.)  We are truly appreciative for any help that we receive.  Thanks in advance for your support!

Ryan Scotten is a fourteen year old Intermediate Figure Skater.  He has been skating since he was 7 1/2 years old.  Currently, he trains 5 to 6 days per week on and off the ice.  Ryan is training under the direction of Jayne Throckmorton at Skatetown.  He is a hard worker who has hopes and aspirations of competing at the international level.  Ryan does his own off ice training program to include cardio, strength training, pilates, and stretching.  Ryan absolutely loves to compete and is looking forward to a career in skating, but has to limit many competitions due to funds.  His mother is a single parent who is working overtime to help pay for his skating.  Any financial assistance to help with all skating needs  such as coaching fees, ice time, and travel expenses would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you for your generosity and support!

Tommy Steenberg, 18, just competed at the U.S. Senior Nationals for the second time, placing 14th.  He has also competed at seven Junior Grand Prix Competitions, and he placed 6th at the 2006 Junior Grand Prix final.  Tommy has medalled at Nationals in the Intermediate, Novice, and Junior levels and has competed at Nationals every year for the past seven years from Juvenile to Senior.  He represents the Skating Club of Northern Virginia and trains under Ross Lansel and Audrey Weisiger at the Fairfax Ice Arena in Northern Virginia.  Along with his intensive training, he has excelled in his education and was named to the 2006 USFS State Farm Scholastic Honors Team.

Kevin Sun is the 2005 Intermediate Men's National Champion.  He also qualified for the U.S. Junior Nationals in 2003 (as a Juvenile) and in 2004 (as an Intermediate).  Now, he's competing as a Novice.  Most recently, he placed 8th at the 2007 Eastern Sectionals.  Kevin represents the Uncle Sam Skating Club and he trains at the University of Delaware with  coaches Priscilla Hill and Karl Kurtz.  In addition to skating, Kevin attends Chinese school and is proud to be bilingual.

Ten year old Leland Swaim has been skating for only 2 years but has already won  11 gold medals and 4 silvers.   He has competed at the Juvenile Level since passing the  test in August. Even though he must skate in used boots and blades, his work ethics are as solid as any. He recently had to drop ballet because funds are tight, but continues to work on his own.   He is in desprate need of help as he approches the juvenile and intermediate levels, and on into pairs which is his goal.His coach is Jim Bowser.  Leland dreams of someday being a world class skater.

Zoltan Toth is the four time and reigning Hungarian National Champion.  He is proud to have represented Hungary at both the 2001, 2003, 2004, and 2005  European Championships  and at the 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005 World Championships .   He also competed at the 2002 Olympics.  It is impressive that he accomplished these goals despite losing both of his parents in the 1990s and having only his coach Zsófia Kulcsár and his choreographer Istvan Boros to support him.  Zoltan also has to travel to Spain and Russia in the summers in order to find ice.

Geoffry Varner has been skating since he was nine years old and in that time, has competed at the U.S. National Championships at the Intermediate, Novice, Junior, and Senior levels.  Highlights include winning Bronze at the 2006 Nationals, as a Junior, and winning three Junior Grand Prix medals in 2005, including a Bronze at the JGP Final.   He trains very hard on and off the ice, doing freestyle sessions, dance classes, stretch classes, cardio, and weight training.  Geoffry represents the University of Delaware Figure Skating Club and is coached by Barbara Roles Williams.  His family is in need of funding so that he may continue to train and compete.

Twenty-two year old Rohene Ward is a Senior Level competitor who has gained a large following through his unique style, extreme flexability, and the fact that his programs often include spins and jumps in both directions.   He has competed at four U.S. Nationals, with his best finish being 8th in 2003.   He has also performed and toured with the shows "Ebony on Ice" and "Soul Spectacular on Ice."  He is coached by Page Lipe, and he represents the Starlight Ice Dance Club in Minneapolis.

Ben Woolwine is a Senior level skater .  His long term goal is to compete at the 2006 Olympics.  Last season, as a Junior,  he placed 10th at the U.S. National Championships and this year he placed 6th, also as a Junior.  Past achievements include a 1st place finishes at both the 2001 North American Challenge and the 2001 Eastern Great Lakes Regional, both on the Novice level.  He represents the Detroit Skating Club and is coached by Mitch Moyer.Ben's training expenses total over $37,000 per year so he is in need of sponsorship.
